I will be traveling in and out of the city during the week that my car is expected to be delivered. Is there any way that I can arrange for a specific delivery date so I know to stick around to wait for the delivery truck?

Unfortunately, delivery times are estimated, not firm. If there's a chance you won't be around to accept the delivery, either designate somebody to wait for the car for you or ask the shipping company to deliver the car to a storage facility, so you can pick it up later.
