Do I need to be around for the pickup from car shipping driver? I'm running around getting my move organized and it's complicated.

Somebody must be there to sign the contract, either yourself or a friend or family member. That same person will need to inspect the vehicle along with the driver, so any defects or problems can be noted before the auto shippers accept the vehicle for delivery.
